I have looked around a few places to sell my blog advertising when I stumbled on a new site with huge potential. It claims to be a bloggers market place.
It is pretty empty at the moment but I can see where the site is going and what it wants to do.
You can win 10,000 Entrecard Credits if you sign up before Febuary the 1st 2008. Leave a comment here to become pat of it. Anyone leaving a comment can get an extra $5 in credit for Focial.com.
Lets Look At The Site
Looks nice but what is the aim of the site.
Well rather than having a set price for your remaining advertising spots, why not just put them up for auction and the highest bidder. Its easy to do and offers a variety of ways to list. You can auction your advertising and set a ‘Buy It Now’ price, a reserve price, you can even accept offers between a certain range.
What Can You List
At the moment there is a few things you can list.
So you can sell pretty much anything blogging related.
I liked the way sponsored reviews were handled, basically all you do is bid on what someone has listed and buy it at the buy now price. You then complete the review and put a message in the message box available after each auction. The sponsor then marks that you have paid (finished) the review and sends the money to your paypal account.
What does it cost
As far as I am aware there are no costs until the end of January. Then the costs come into effect on certain things.
5% of the final price for paid advertising, sponsored reviews and paid guest posts is taken by the site. Which still means you come out with 95%.
Other costs will be related to adding extras to your listing like, front page exposure, featured items, bolding etc but the price is only between 0.05 and 0.75 which is very cheap.
How Are Payments Handled
Payments are handled automatically and can be done via a variety of payment gateways or credit card.
I also notice you get $25 for signing up which goes towards any fees you will get come the end of January. This is a lot of listings. Especially if you go down the free blog exposure categories as they cost 0.01 at the end of January which is a lot of listings.
You can also earn $5 for each person you refer to the site which could mean you never have to pay for any upgrades again if you do it right.
All in all an easy to use site with some great features. So why not sell that advertising, sponsored reviews. Or just go along to earn some money doing the reviews.
From What I understand you can use the following images and link them to focial. Anyone you refer can mention your username and you receive an extra $5 in your pot on Focial for listing items after January.

Focial looks promising! I want to let you know, I had a little bit of a somewhat difficult time finding the link to the website and the image was a little small… Not trying to nit-pick, just constructive criticism for a blog I like! Thanks for sharing this!

Hi, I think it is a great site and has some very very serious potential. I have joined and will setup my account later today.
The only question I have is, do you have a referring link.
I would like to help promote your site and refer new members.

Not at the moment, I am just making some banners that you will be able to use.
They can then mention where they came from in a box I added to the sign up process.

This sounds like a good idea. I might give it a try and I might even put up a short post about it soon.
